Oh, hey! 👋 Nice to meet you.
I’m a UX consultant in Albany, NY (and everywhere!) and founder of Kennason. This site is basically a record of some professional things I’ve done outside of my consulting work.
I'm a trained research psychologist.
My PhD in Human Factors Psychology (completed from 2009-2017) led directly into UX Strategy consulting. Human Factors is the scientific practice of designing technology and systems based on how humans think, feel, and behave.
(You can think of Human Factors as the academic sister of UX.)
I'm a UX Strategist.
In 2015, I started Kennason, a UX strategy company. We help organizations improve their products and services through advisement and support on design research and content design. If you are curious about my day-to-day work, read about Kennason!
I'm an educator, writer, and speaker.
I write an occasional newsletter called Interrobang: Questions and Exclamations on Design.
I’ve taught History of Graphic Design at Russell Sage College in Albany, encouraging students to apply critical thinking to the past, present, and future of design.
I previously wrote regular articles for UserZoom and I was a contributing author to the book 97 Things Every UX Practitioner Should Know from O’Reilly Media. I also enjoy giving talks and workshops locally and at conferences around the country.
